Firestarter: A Burn It Up Arcade Game
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
This heatwave starts with a leaf fire caused by a gardening bot, and spreads to an all-consuming firestorm!
Direct the flames from one flammable object to another and grow the fire to burn bigger and grander things.
This is my submission for the June/July 2019 JackpotJam. The theme was a ‘Heatwave’.

If built up we would like to try upping the burning scale, go from garden fire to burning down cars and streets! With busy robots fighting to stop you from spreading and a arcade scoring system! You know fun stuff.
Abilities:
Flames will be attracted to the red cursor when it’s nearby, use this to spread fire to the end of the level by burning objects in your way!
Sometimes you need to move objects to go forward. When there is fire near the red cursor it will be able to push nearby objects - move the mouse quickly in the direction you want it to go.
[tip: make sure the depth of the cursor lines up with the object you want to push.]
Controls:
Holding the right mouse button makes the red cursor follow the blue cursor.
Move the mouse to move the blue cursor.
Use the scroll wheel, or L Ctrl / L shift, to change the cursor's depth from the camera.
Holding the space bar will let you enter camera mode.
Rotate the camera by moving the mouse.
Zoom the camera in and out using the scroll wheel or L Ctrl / L shift.
To move the camera through the scene, use wasd or the arrow buttons.
The time spent was around 36 Hours over 10 days. Don’t forget to check out the other entries for the JackpotJam and give them some feedback (...and mine too while your at it)!

This game was oddly mesmerizing, or maybe I shouldn't feel so mesmerized by burning things. This was such a fun game and I did have some trouble getting the fire to spread but by moving the camera angle I finally could move forward. I loved the art style and the small detail like how loud the fire burning was depending on how close to the fire your were, over all a very good game :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
